Coach Mary Lichtenberger

Coach Lichtenberger is from a small town in Pennsylvania where teaching and coaching a team of her own was a dream since she was a little girl! She ran Cross Country and track at Tamaqua High School, and continued her running career at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. This is Coach Lichtenberger's eleventh year teaching Math and Coaching Track and Field/Cross Country. This is her second year being a Riverview SHARK!

"Not many people understand Cross Country. They ask, "Wait, you run for fun?" Most people don't understand the hard work and dedication you need to be successful in Cross Country. I can honestly say these kids are my family away from home. I love the energy they bring to the team, their hard work, and their dedication. They inspire me to be the best coach I can be every day. When I get asked, "Do you think Cross Country is an individual or a team sport?" I answer, "A team sport of course, but we aren't a team.... we are a FAMILY!"
